Recommended reader age: 3-8

We own a number of early reader books and these are by far the favorites. Eight of the books in this 10-book set focus on one particular vowel sound with the other books reviewing the vowels and highlighting sight words. The books are very short and simple; each page has just one, four-five word sentence with an illustration on the opposite page. The character, Biscuit, is likable and his short adventures are interesting enough to keep attention. My eldest, who is an emergent reader, feels very accomplished after reading one of these entirely by herself.
