My kids love to be on the look-out for the fox, Lickety-Quick, in this story. The text follows four cousins and their fun activities each season as they visit their grandmother in the country. They play a game, the Watching Game, in which the person who spots the fox first gets to hang Grandpa’s old hat on the door. The text is almost poetic and the theme highlights the cautious relationship between man and nature, each watching the other from a safe distance.
